GBS Student Referral Scheme
Do you have friends or family who would like to study? If you do, now is the perfect time to refer them to GBS. The process is straightforward and you'll also receive AED2,500 for everyone who starts one of our courses, with no limit on the number of referrals you make.
How to make a referral
The referral process can be done simply by taking the following steps:
Share the details of the relevant course with your family and/or friends.
Your family member/or friend will then need to submit an enquiry with a full application, or request a call back on our website. They will need to state your full name and Student ID number with the application or complete a Student referral form if you prefer. We'll take the enquire and follow up, confirming with you that the application has been received.
You will receive AED2,500 for each successful referral that is made (subject to terms and conditions).
GBS Dubai Student Referral Scheme Terms and Conditions
1. By taking part in this Student Referral Scheme, the current student or alumni known as the 'referrer' is bound by these terms and conditions and indicates their agreement with them.
2. A student who has successfully completed a GBS Dubai qualification can be an alumni referrer.
- Current students who are studying on a programme delivered by GBS Dubai at the time of referral and payment processing (i.e., referral fees cannot be paid to students who have discontinued their programme).
- Alumni: Students who have successfully completed a qualification with GBS Dubai can be an alumni referrer.
- Any person who has family, friends and/or colleagues who have a desire to study.
- Who can be referred: A person who meets the entry requirements of a GBS Dubai programme can be referred.
3. The Student Referral Scheme only applies to programmes directly taught by GBS Dubai and those programmes are eligible for this offer. A full list of programmes is available online at courses. GBS Dubai will permit an unlimited number of referrals per referrer per academic year.
4. The new student needs to meet the following conditions:
- Submit an application form which states the full name and Student ID of their referrer.
- Complete the initial admissions assessment.
- Successfully enrol onto your course.
- Ensure that necessary fees have been paid.
5. The referrer only receives payment for each new student referred under the following conditions:
- The new student's full name and Student ID number must be included in order for GBS Dubai to identify the origin of the referral.
- The new student has successfully enrolled on their course.
- The referred student provides the full name and Student ID of the referrer during their application.
- GBS successfully receives the first instalment of the referred student's tuition fees.
Changes to the Student Referral Scheme
GBS Dubai reserves the right to make amendments to this referral scheme, including changes to terms and conditions, or a withdrawal of the scheme at any time.
Governing Law
In the event of a dispute or claim pertaining to the conditions or subject matter of the referral scheme, the case will be governed under UAE law.
Data Protection Guidelines
1. GBS is required to collect, process and store personal data about its staff, students and other individuals in order to deliver our activities and functions. GBS is the controller for most of its personal data processing, with a continued commitment to compliance with the applicable data protection legislation including The Data Protection Act 2018; and the United Kingdom General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).
2. Due to regulations on data protection and privacy, the referrer will not receive any updates on the application or tuition fee status of the new student. The referrer will only be notified once the tuition fee has been received, prompting a request for the referrer’s details for servicing the payment.
3. If you have study arrangements with any GBS Collaborative Partner Institution, please note that all of our partners are Data Controllers and are also bound by the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR. Please refer to each partner institution individually for more information regarding their respective guidelines on data protection.
Reward (Payment)
1. The referrer is entitled to a referral payment of AED2,500 for each new student they refer, where all terms and conditions of the student referral scheme are satisfied. Your payment will be subject to HMRC PAYE income tax and national insurance deductions.
2. Payments will be made approximately 4 months following the start of the course. Timescales will vary depending on the course.
3. The GBS Finance Department will collect relevant details ahead of payment, with the referrer being notified of the payment amount prior to the payment being made.
4. Payments will only be made via bank transfer (BACS).
5. No payment will be made if any tuition fees are in arrears for either the referrer or the new student.
